Re: [isp-marketing] Buzz Marketing at ISPCON
I think they got a lot of attention, but I wouldn't be caught wearing the bright yellow shirts that the models were handing out. Wearing that shirt just made you look like "I need the $100 gift really bad" or.... "yeah, the girls got me to wear this shirt". Having pretty girls might get attention, wearing the shirt prolly not. The lanyards were a decent idea. I dunno, those promotions may have meant more if I were actually interested in those products.

For anyone at the ISPCON show in Santa Clara, what did you think of the Buzz
Marketing by GlobalPOPs and NetCleanse?

NetCleanse (who paid for the rights to Buzz the show) had models handing out
neon yellow tee-shirts in exchange for biz cards (and other info) with the
chance to win $100. (Disclosure: I won a $100 :). Mike at Netcleanse says it
was the best response they had from an ISPCON.

GlobalPOPs hired 2 models to swap out lanyards, replacing the Verio badge
holder for a GlobalPOPs one.

Any thoughts on these types of marketing techniques?
Thank you.
