Frankly, I like half naked women (go figure). As for attracting attention, let me say they did their job, otherwise no one would be talking about it. Obviously created a good buzz, and if I dare say, possibly a necessary evil. The lanyard swap was good, because everyone noticed the different lanyards (10% different can be good). I noticed them all week in fact. Very easy to spot. As for how they got the attention of the men, well, tactics are always in question when someone employs methods outside the ordinary. Someone should have told Microsoft that back in the hay days of IT and PCs at PC Expo or Comdex. I distinctly remember fashion shows with Models dominating the show floor with hundreds of men huddled around the 40 x 60 booths... But that was a long time ago in a land far, far away... Obviously sex sells and all three organizations wanted to be 10% different. Guess what? They were. Now, Jon and the board members of ISPCON may not like it, and it is their prerogative to do something about it if they want. That I will give them, and not criticize for it. However, we did not have a booth and I spent three days in great conferences with professionals that I give a lot of admired respect to. I walked the floor looking for potential new vendor/VAS partners, made some new friends, renewed some friendships, and had a great week. The scantily clad women offered a nice distraction and a smile when I was wiped out. Thanks ladies... In all the conference accomplished everything it was supposed to for me. It told me I was on the right track with my company, it gave me new ideas, I learned a lot, and have some thoughts to add to my roadmap as such. Someone will buy from those companies, as there is a compelling offer in their USP for someone... What else did you get out of the conference??? Memories of the women and.... Props Jon, board members and session leaders. A great conference! Wearing that shirt just made you look like "I need the $100 gift really bad" or.... "yeah, the girls got me to wear this shirt". Having pretty girls might get attention, wearing the shirt prolly not. The lanyards were a decent idea. I dunno, those promotions may have meant more if I were actually interested in those products. John McKown President Delaware.Net, Inc.
